Description
The North American F-107A Ultra Sabre jet fighter prototype, one of three built before the program lost to the F-105 Thunderchief. It is remembered as one of the best aircraft designed and built for the USAF that wasn't put into service. This aircraft served with NASA as a high-speed test jet.

Wow Douglas!! Fantastic work!! love the angle and white trails off the wingtips! Gives a great sense of speed and drama! Love the unique shape of the nose and windshield. Beautiful colors and background work as well! f/l/t!! :D

Douglas, My great uncle was Chief Engineer at Flight Test for NAA until retirement in 1970. He had some great stories about this plane. He gave me a couple original color 11x14s of this plane that I had hanging in my room all during my school years. It was one of my favorites probably because of the unique design and I love those factory paint schemes of the early jet age. This painting is inspiring work! :-)

Thank you, Ken. I agree with you why this jet is a favorite, and I would have liked to hear those stories, but at least I have a great collection of films of the 107 on DVD.
