Thanks for the feature, Ken.

Thanks, John! The rocket on the left is like a toy compared to the big guy on the right. (Still the most powerful rocket ever.) The five F-1 engines on the Saturn V produced 7.6 million lbs. of force for the 6 million lbs. weight of the whole thing. No idea how that transfers to HP, but it must be a few, LOL.

Wow, amazing collection...looks great! lots of HP in those engines I'm sure! What's the average?

Artist's Description

The Redstone, Atlas, Titan, Saturn 1B, and the Saturn V rocket boosters, used by NASA for all the manned launches until the advent of the Space Shuttle. From five separate oil paintings. The Redstone was used for the first two Mercury sub-orbital missions, the Atlas for the other four Mercury orbital missions. The Titan was used for all of the Gemini missions in 1965 and 1966. The Saturn 1B was used for Apollo 7 (first manned Apollo), and all three Skylab missions and the Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975, which was the last of all the Apollo missions. The much larger and hugely powerful Saturn V was used for all the moon orbital and landing missions (and Apollo 9, which remained in Earth orbit as it tested the Lunar Module in flight for the first time), as well as launching the Skylab orbital space station.
