Artist's Description
From a public viewing area along Imperial Highway, which runs along the south side of LAX, a late afternoon scene of the busy airport. This is just after a rain shower, and it shows a Boeing 777 taking off and a 737 landing, with a cargo 747 in the foreground. This is a 18"x36" oil painting on panel. (way in the background, you can see the famous Hollywood sign).
Second-place winner of the 2015 Torrance Artist Guild Art Show.

Outstanding and incredible work Douglas! That is quite a scene you took on, you are far braver than I! I would love to see it in person because I don't think it is being done proper justice even with the full rez option turned on. You can tell you really poured your heart into this wonderful aviation art. Kudos Douglas.
Douglas Castleman replied:
Thanks for the kind words, John. Yes, I think this looks better in person as well, to be honest, but that is probably true with most paintings.
