Title
Dogfight Over Korea
Artist
Douglas Castleman
Medium
Drawing - Graphite Pencil On Paper
Description
A pencil drawing of an USAF F-86 Sabre in air combat with a Russian-built MiG-15 of the Chinese Air Force, often actually piloted by Soviets, over North Korea during the three year war there. The Soviet pilots were nick-named "honchos" by the American pilots because of their superior piloting skills over the North Korean and Chinese pilots, who had far less experience than either the Americans or Soviets.
