Medium
Painting - Oil On Panel
Description
12" x 24" oil on panel painting of the Mitsubishi fighter plane of World War 2. This is the very latest in my series of these airplanes currently flying at Airshows. (These take far longer than most, as I go all-out with detail.) This fine and super rare example is owned by the Planes of Fame, Chino, California. Captured on Saipan in 1944, this still retains the original Nakajima Sakai engine and still has some bullet holes inside the fuselage. The logbook shows that Charles Lindberg flew this during the war.
