8" x 10" oil on canvas panel painting of the supersonic fighter of the U.S. Navy that was introduced in 1956 and flew well into the 1960's, retiring from the Blue Angels Aerobatic team in 1969. It would have served longer and in more numbers, but the Vought F8U Crusader proved a superior fighter with a more reliable engine.
