14" x 16" graphite pencil drawing on Bristol paper of Convair's first delta wing design that led directly to the Sea Dart, the F-102, F-106, and the B-58. This was designed and first flew in the late 1940's. The one and only example ever built is on display at the USAF Museum in Dayton, OH.
Douglas Castleman is an award-winning artist and photographer based in Los Angeles (Torrance, California). His aerospace art has garnered the American Society of Aviation Artist (ASAA) Artist Fellow status, and some of his paintings are in the collections at the US Air Force Art Collection (Pentagon) and the NASA Permanent Art Collection (Neil Armstrong Flight Research Center at Edwards Air Force Base, California). Douglas specializes in landscape, aviation and marine subjects and photography. His oil paintings, watercolor and pencil (graphite) works are part of collections around the world.
